Cookies Policy

1. What this is

This page explains what data we store in your browser when you visit schedars.com, what counts as a “cookie” vs. similar technology, and how to control it.

We aim for a minimal-cookie site by design. We do not run advertising trackers, social media pixels, fingerprinting libraries, or session-replay tools. The list below is comprehensive — if it’s not here, it’s not on the site.

2. What “cookies” means

Strictly, a cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. In this policy, we use “cookie” loosely to also include:

• localStorage / sessionStorage entries (used for theme and language preferences)
• Vercel Web Analytics signals (which use neither cookies nor localStorage — they’re truly stateless on the client)

EU and UK rules (the ePrivacy Directive / PECR) treat all browser storage similarly, regardless of the technical mechanism, so we cover everything in one place.

3. What we actually use

Strictly necessary (no consent required)

These are essential for the site to function. We use them based on legitimate interest under GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) and they’re exempt from consent under PECR.

Analytics (privacy-respecting, no consent required)

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is built to be privacy-respecting:

• No cookies set
• No localStorage written
• No persistent identifiers (no client ID, no device fingerprint)
• No personal data collected — only aggregated counts of page views by URL, country, device class, and referrer

Because Vercel Analytics doesn’t store anything on your device or persistently identify you, it falls outside the consent requirements of GDPR/ePrivacy and CCPA. We use it under legitimate interest (improving the site).

Third-party cookies

We don’t use any. No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no Twitter widgets, no LinkedIn Insight, no embedded chat widgets, no third-party fonts loaded from a CDN that sets cookies.

External resources are limited to:

• Self-hosted fonts (no third-party request)
• Vercel-hosted images and assets (same-origin)
• CMS images from cms.schedars.com (our infrastructure, no cookies)

If you click an outbound link to LinkedIn, GitHub, Apple App Store, or any other site, that destination’s cookie policy applies — not ours.

4. Newsletter and contact form

If you subscribe to a newsletter or fill out the contact form, we collect and process the data you submit (name, email, message). This is described in our Privacy Policy. No cookies are set as a result of submitting these forms beyond what is described above.

5. How to opt out or clear

Browser-level

You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings:

• Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
• Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data

If you clear our entries, the next visit will reset to defaults (theme = system preference).

”Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control

We respect:

• DNT (Do Not Track) — though we don’t track you anyway
• Global Privacy Control (GPC) — required by CCPA/CPRA; we treat the GPC signal as a valid opt-out request

Since we don’t sell or share personal data, these signals don’t change much in practice — but we honour them.

6. Children

We don’t direct this site at children under 16 (or 13 in the United States) and don’t knowingly set storage on devices used primarily by children. See the Privacy Policy for details.

7. Changes

If we add a new cookie or analytics tool, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date refreshed. Material changes will require explicit consent if required by law (we’ll prompt you).
